Rail passengers across Wales and its borders can now look forward to the transformation of their rail services through significant improvements to the frequency and quality of Wales and Borders rail services, as well as investment in rail infrastructure.
The purpose of the Sustainable Development Officer is to ensure that the requirements of the Well-being of Future Generations Act, associated legislation (such as the Environment Act, the Active Travel Act and the Modern Slavery Act), and policies and guidelines on ethical employment and ethical sourcing are embedded into Transport for Wales’ culture and activities.
You’ll assist TfW in integrating the Well-being of Future Generations Act into its operations by supporting the Sustainable Development Manager to ensure 5 ways of working and 7 well-being goals are embedded.
You’ll be delivering various sustainable development projects to further support TfW’s sustainable development plan and policy delivery, as well as supporting the maintenance of the Environmental Management System and related records.
You’ll also communicate TfW’s vision, values and objectives to provide a consistent message to all stakeholders on our approach to sustainable development. Conducting audits to ensure that this approach to sustainable development is upheld by our contracting partners.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about sustainable development and can leverage experience of using Well-being of Future Generations Act to deliver sustainable development policies, plans and procedures.
You’ll need to have:
o Experience of using the Well-being of Future Generations Act.
o Experience of supporting the effective delivery of sustainable development policies, plans and procedures.
o Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and communicating with a wide range of colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
